The nights are fair drawing in

Clocks changed a week ago and though lighter in the mornings - a real boost when getting up at 6am - it's getting dark in the evenings again. Travelling to and from Inverness in the dark is not a lot of fun because of the large number of deer at the roadside. Used to be they would only come down in the snow, but lack of culling has helped the population to soar.

Pass a beautiful antlered stag on its knees, after being hit by a too-fast travelling pick up and white van - tail to tail - racing each other on the straight wide road from Garve to Achnasheen . Fortunate or unfortunate... you decide.
